Hello and welcome!

We are Colin and Sandra, and we're delighted to welcome you to WaldBachHouse.

More than simply a holiday home, WaldBachHouse is a place where people come together. Whether you're planning a relaxing weekend in nature, a family celebration, a company retreat, an AI workshop, or simply looking for a peaceful base to explore the beautiful Eifel region, we hope you'll feel at home here.

Why "WaldBachHouse"?

The name combines two things that make this place so special:

Wald – the forests that surround the property on every side.
Bach – the Vicht stream flowing gently through the bottom of our garden.

Nestled between two valleys and surrounded by four forests, WaldBachHouse offers an unusually peaceful setting where nature is literally on your doorstep.

The nearby village of Zweifall, often known as the gateway to the Eifel National Park, offers wonderful hiking, cycling, mountain biking and motorcycling routes, while the historic cities of Aachen and Monschau are only a short drive away.

A House That Grows With Every Visit

WaldBachHouse is a large country house that is gradually being restored and expanded.

Our vision is to create a unique destination combining:

As renovations continue, additional apartments, guest rooms and shared facilities will become available.

Accommodation

Guests may book either individual apartments and rooms or rent the entire property for larger gatherings.

Der Struffelt (up to 4–5 guests)

A spacious self-catering apartment with its own entrance, kitchen and bathroom.

Features include:

King-size 1.8 m bed
Comfortable sofa bed
Optional annex room
Direct access to the upper terrace and garden

Perfect for couples, families and longer stays.

Der Rursee (up to 4 guests)

Our largest apartment offers direct access to the winter garden, terrace and garden.

It includes:

Fully equipped kitchen
Dining area
Bathroom with bath, shower and washing machine
King-size 1.8 m bed
Optional Monschau annex room for larger families

Guests can step directly into the garden and enjoy outdoor dining, BBQs and the peaceful stream.

Der Hohes Venn (up to 4 guests)

A cosy loft room ideal for shorter stays.

Features include:

Private shower room
Double bed
Floor mattress for an additional guest
Coffee machine, kettle and microwave

The room is accessed via a traditional spiral staircase, giving it plenty of character, although it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.

Monschau Room

A flexible annex room that is usually booked together with Der Rursee for larger family groups.

It can also occasionally be booked separately when available.

The Core House

The main house provides accommodation for approximately 8–10 guests and includes:

Two king-size bedrooms
One queen-size bedroom
Gallery sleeping area
Additional space for extra mattresses

Ideal for larger families and group stays.

Exclusive House Hire

WaldBachHouse can also be booked exclusively for larger groups.

Our aim is to create memorable experiences rather than simply provide accommodation.

AI Workshops & Innovation Retreats

Colin is the founder of BaconConsult and BACON-AI, specialising in practical AI adoption, AI-ready businesses, and intelligent automation.

Throughout the year, WaldBachHouse hosts small-group AI workshops where business owners, managers and technical teams can explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence in an informal, hands-on environment.

The peaceful setting makes it an ideal place to learn, collaborate and think creatively away from the office.

Sauna (Coming Soon)

Our shared sauna is currently being refurbished and is expected to reopen during Autumn 2026.

Once available, guests will be able to reserve private sessions before cooling off beside the stream or relaxing in the garden.

Meet Your Hosts

Hello—we're Colin and Sandra.

We love meeting people from around the world and sharing this beautiful corner of the Eifel with our guests.

Colin has spent his career working internationally in technology, engineering and artificial intelligence, while Sandra brings warmth, creativity and a genuine passion for hospitality. Together we've travelled extensively and experienced hundreds of hotels, apartments and holiday homes across Europe and beyond.

Those experiences inspired us to create the kind of place we always hoped to find ourselves.

Today, WaldBachHouse has become much more than a holiday home.

It's a place where families celebrate milestone birthdays, friends reunite, couples enjoy peaceful weekends, businesses hold creative retreats, and people discover new ideas during our AI workshops.

Whether you're here for adventure, relaxation, celebration or inspiration, we look forward to welcoming you personally.

Why We Created WaldBachHouse

For many years, my work took us all over the world. We spent countless nights in hotels—comfortable enough, but often impersonal. No matter how luxurious the room, something was always missing: the feeling of being truly at home.

When I found this beautiful house surrounded by forests and with the Vicht stream flowing through the garden, I knew we wanted to create something different.

Our vision was never simply to offer a bed for the night.

We wanted to create a place where guests could slow down, reconnect with nature, spend quality time together, and leave with wonderful memories.

Whether that's enjoying breakfast in the garden, reading beneath the trees, hiking through the Eifel National Park, sharing stories around the fire bowl, cooking together, enjoying a barbecue, or simply relaxing with a glass of wine beside the stream, we believe these are the moments that make a holiday truly special.

Every apartment has direct or easy access to our large park-like garden, where you'll find quiet corners to relax, plenty of space for children to play, outdoor seating, BBQ facilities, and the gentle sound of the Vicht stream flowing behind the property.

On warm summer days, many guests enjoy cooling their feet in the stream before settling back into a deck chair to watch the evening sun disappear behind the forest.

Our greatest compliment is when guests tell us they didn't just stay here—they felt at home.

eBike and Bicycle facilities

You can also store your bicycles or motorcycle in one of our lockable garages or barn (space permitting), We have eBike recharging and bike washing facilities in the garden including a bicycle repair stand for doing minor maintenance to your bike to ensure a safe and pleasurable biking experiences. Spare parts can be can usually be ordered and delivered online within 24 hours.
