About WaldBach House

"Waldbach" House gets its name from being located in the forest (Wald) with the stream 'Vicht' (Bach) running through the back of the garden; which portrays the central themes of this house. The house lies in the middle of two valleys and is surrounded by 4 forests on all sides

This is a wonderful and large county house which can also be booked as a complete house e..g for events for 20 ++ people or as individual self-contained apartments and private rooms. The house is a perfect choice for a large family or company gathering where you are looking for a picturesque and adventurous getaway.

It is located in the village called Zweifall, which is known as the portal to the Eifel. It offers beautiful scenery, nature with great hiking trails through the forest, and amazing mountain biking and motorcycling routes.

The house is being renovated and more listings will be added in the near future. The house currently contains the following apartment and rooms:

Der Struffelt (4 persons): A fully equipped self-catering apartment on the ground floor with private access from the entrance hall. It has its own private kitchens and bathrooms. The bedroom is equipped with a king-size 1,8m bed for 2 persons and a 1,4 sofa bed for an additional 1-2 persons. In addition, we have a single annex room (on another floor) for an additional person. From the bedroom, you have direct access to the upper-terrace and garden. You may also share my cozy lounge with fireplace and dining area with me and other guests.

Der Hohesvenn (3-4 persons): This is a private and cozy room in the loft with its own private shower and is ideal for a short stay. The room is equipped with a large 1,4-meter double bed and a floor mattress for an additional person. Subject to availability, we also have a single annex room on another floor for an additional person if required. The room is equipped with a microwave, kettle, and coffee machine. The loft room is accessed directly from the main entrance via a spiral staircase. Note: The spiral staircase is narrow and similar to the ones you may find in a castle, so it may not be suitable for all people. You may also share my kitchen, lounge with a cozy fireplace, and dining area with me and other guests.

Der Rursee with Wellness Sauna (3-4 persons): A fully equipped self-catering apartment on the ground floor with direct to the Wintergarden and via the barn, you have direct access to the garden and lower terrace with garden furniture and BBQ. It has its own private Sauna and Cold and hot showers in the bathroom. After a sauna, you can cool off in the stream at the end of the garden and relax in the private winter garden or secluded garden. The bathroom also includes a small bath. The apartment has a private kitchen and dining area. The bedroom is equipped with a king-sized 1,8m bed for 2 persons and a floor-mattress for an additional 1 person and (subject to availability) we have a single annex room next to the apartment for an additional person. You may also share my lounge with a cozy fireplace and dining area with me and other guests.

Monschau: Single room with 1,2m bed. for 1-2 persons

Core House (8-10 persons): The core house currently contains

2 x double bedrooms with kingsized 1,8 m beds for 2 persons.
1 x double bedroom with Queen-sized 1,4m bed for 2 persons
2 x floor mattresses. for 2 persons in the gallery
You may also bring your own mattresses for an additional 2 persons in the gallery.
In the summer, you may also bring your tent or hammock to put up in the garden.

Complete House (20+ persons)

You can rent out the complete house for a family gathering or company team-building event. We can arrange a large marquee in the garden with catering too. We can also arrange other management events with flipcharts, beamers and equipment, project team-building events, and specialized training events on request.

Why are we doing this?

We have been traveling most of our professional life and always felt that we were not at home and something was more personal is missing when we arrived at the hotel. We wanted to change this and provide more than just a "room and a bed" but to offer a memorable and complete vacation experience for our guests; such as being able to arrive, unpack, put your feet up and relax in a wonderful garden next to a stream, with a glass of wine whilst baking a pizza over the fire bowl.

All rooms in the house have access to the beautiful garden with space to relax, play games, BBQ grill and you can even cool off and paddle in the Vicht stream at the back of the garden on hot days.

eBike and Bicycle facilities

You can also store your bicycles or motorcycle in one of our lockable garages or barn (space permitting), We have eBike recharging and bike washing facilities in the garden including a bicycle repair stand for doing minor maintenance to your bike to ensure a safe and pleasurable biking experiences. Spare parts can be can usually be ordered and delivered online within 24 hours.
